Now in its 14th year, the Witney Music Festival is proudly supported and hosted by the wonderful community of Witney, Oxfordshire.  Just outside of Oxford, Witney is a charming and bustling market town with a thriving music scene – and we put on a hell of a show.

The Festival was born from a brother’s love and loss. When Jo Marie Foster suddenly passed away in her sleep in 2005 at the young age of 21, her brother Stuart channeled his grief by turning to music. Jo Marie had very actively supported local music and venues in Witney so it was natural for Stuart to honour her by inviting the town to a new festival. The humble inaugural tribute brought life to local pubs and music venues and was received very positively; and just like that, an annual festival had been launched.

A decade later, the festival had grown to 2 weeks of back-to-back small shows promoting local artists and culminating in a two day open-air mega show on the Witney Leys Recreation Ground. By 2018, the Witney Music Festival was elated to count 17,000 people in attendance over the two days.

Thanks to the Town of Witney, generous local businesses and corporate sponsors, hundreds of artists and the tireless work of so many volunteers, we are so very happy to invite you again in 2020.  Please join us at the next Witney Music Festival!
